MARKETING MIXX!
So far this year we have learned a lot in marketing class. We have went through most of the steps and what is needed to successfully market products. The first 4 the we learn were the 4 P's: Product, Place, Price, Promotion. Without these, you couldn't even start to market. Then we learned about the 7 Keys: Product Service Management, Distribution, Selling, Financing, Marketing-Info Management, Pricing, and Promotion. These 7 are all co-dependent on each other which means if one would fail, the rest would fail also.

Pricing...
In the video we watched, the topic was about over priced sneaker. Stephon Marbury introduced his line of sneakers which he said that they were affordable, not cheap and had the same quality as Air Jordan's.
Marbury's mother said back when he was growing up, she didn't have the money to got out and buy $150 sneakers. She needed that money to survive and put food on the table for her kids.
I believe wanting something just means that you just want it to have it. It's not going to benefit you in anyway, but needing something means you need it for something important that might benefit you in the long run.
I buy fashion based on the quality, the style of the time, and also the price. Things don't have to be expensive to b e nice.

M-I-M...
Now in sports marketing we all learning about the importance M-I-M, or Marketing Information Management. M-I-M is when the company gather research from the customers and understand how the product can benefit them. Then they produce and release the products to the customers needs. The focus group is important to this. These are the people that actually go out and gather the info from the customers and research ways to fit the customers needs.

Distribution ✈
In sports Marketing we are learning about "Distribution" which to me is the way a company gets their product from point a to point b. also getting the product shipped safely without damage and saving a little money in there pocket as well.
Yesterday we did an activity where we had to get salt and water from one side to the other, but we could only use a straw, a napkin, and plastic spoon. we decided to suck the water into the straw and scoop the salt up with the plastic spoon and place it on the napkin. We came in first place so I believe my team had a great plan.
This relates to real distribution because you have to strategize the way you are going to move your product with the resources you have while also trying to save money and your product from damage because in the long run that causes the company money. I think it is a very important part of marketing because if you can't get your product around, no one will know about it and also, no one will buy it which is not good for the company either.

4 P's of Marketing...
This post is about a advertisement I did in sports marketing class. At the moment we are learning about the 4 P's of Marketing which include place, product, promotion, and price. I demonstrated all of those things in the advertisement above. www.Nike.com is the "place" where you can purchase the gloves. The "price" of them is listed on the side as $37.99. The "product" are the Vapor Trails Glove themselves, and the "promotion" is the the slogan "CATCH YOUR SUCCESS" , also with one of the best receivers in the league, Calvin Johnson who is wearing the gloves.
